About Harris Pipes

Harris Pipes was founded in 1978 by Graeme Harris in Christchurch. At the time, there were little aftermarket performance products for bikes. The first Harris Pipes exhaust was created when Graeme collaborated with Thunderbike Engineering and racer Bryan Ashworth at the BEARS Sound of Thunder at Ruapuna Raceway in Christchurch. That first exhaust powered his Thunderbike-modified Harley Davidson FXRS to a 135mph top speed from just 93mph stock evo.

The rest, as they say, is history. Since then, Harris Pipes has designed and handcrafted over 4000 custom exhaust systems for everything from bikes to boats. In the process, Harris Pipes systems have powered two world land speed records and three New Zealand race champions.

The Harris Pipes factory is located in central Canterbury with over 70 years of collective exhaust development experience.

Recently, Harris Pipes has brought its experience in vehicle exhaust systems to industry, developing aerodynamic noise and vibration control solutions for plant and generating sets. In this short time, Harris Pipes has emerged with a proven track record, a sure sign of its core competency in acoustics and exhaust systems.
